Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde talked to the press after the win against Eibar and shared his thoughts on his future. Valverde knows that Madrid could send him on a loan deal if they decide to add some more depth to their midfield, but the Uruguayan player would like to stay and compete for a spot.
“I’d like to stay in Real Madrid, I’ve always worked very hard to play here and I achieved it. I do my very best and if I have to leave I’ll do so knowing that I always did my best. If I have to stay, I train and play very hard and my future will be decided by the club and the coach,” said Valverde when asked about it.
Fede knows that his versatility could earn him a spot for next season, given that he can play as a defensive midfielder but also as a central midfielder or even on the flanks on a 4-4-2 formation.
“I feel comfortable in every position of the midfield, it doesn’t matter to me where the coach decides to play me. I’ve played for both Solari and Zidane and I try to make the best out of these minutes,” concluded the player.
Valverde is still 20 years old and could benefit from a loan deal next season if he is not going to get many relevant minutes throughout the year.
