Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente is clearly not in Zinedine Zidane’s plans and could be signing for Atletico de Madrid this upcoming summer, according to a report from AS. Real’s neighbors will try to sign the midfielder to replace Rodrigo, who seems to be set to join either Barça, Bayern Munich or Manchester City, given that all three of those clubs are willing to pay the release clause on his contract with Atleti.
Llorente has definitely proved he belongs and has arguably been a better midfielder than Casemiro this season. However, coach Zidane just doesn’t like what he brings to the table and has never given him meaningful minutes. Some rumors indicate that the two don’t get along after an argument they had when they were in Real Madrid Castilla.
Llorente is under contract and has an expensive release clause, so Atletico will have to negotiate to get him out of the Santiago Bernabeu.
