Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior has talked in an interview with MARCA after what has been an excellent debut season in La Liga for him. Things have not gone the right way for Madrid but on a personal level he’s exceeded every expectations and has established himself as a player who should have very relevant minutes next season.

“For me, on a personal level, it has been a great year. I started in Castilla, I knew that could happen and I knew that’s where I was going to be for the first few weeks. Then I played for the first team and I learned so much,” said Vinicius.

“It was a shame that we couldn’t perform on neither one of the three main competitions but the team was coming off winning three straight Champions League titles and unfortunately this could happen. We are all looking forward to playing better next season so that the team wins again. I am sure we will do it,” he added.

Vinicius will not play in the 2019 Copa America after the injury he suffered against Ajax. It’s clear that he’s still very young, so he needs to be patient as he has earned more than enough chances to show his abilities next season.
