Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is considering his departure from the club this summer, according to a report from El Chiringuito and MARCA. The defender received offers from Manchester United and PSG during the season and while his answer was that he was happy in Madrid, he is now thinking about whether or not a move away from the Spanish capital would be beneficial for both the club and himself.

Neither Ramos nor his agent have told the club about this and apparently the captain is just considering his options and a decision has not been made yet, per those same reports. Real Madrid signed Brazilian defender Eder Militao this past winter and appeared set to face the upcoming season with Ramos, Varane and Militao himself as the three main center backs.

However, Madrid might need to start looking at some other players just in case Ramos ultimately decides to leave so that they can at least sign a quality replacement to avoid a similar situation to the one that happened when Xabi Alonso joined Bayern Munich in 2014.

Either way, Ramos could ultimately want a better contract as players often like to spread transfer rumors as a strategy to sign a contract extension. Right now, these reports seem quite unlikely.
