Former Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho talked about Los Blancos and revealed that he believes the club will spend a lot of money this upcoming transfer window.
“They’ve changed their coach so they’re going to spend a lot. There are always cycles with Real Madrid, as there are in all big teams,” said Mourinho to Movistar+ during the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix.
”They started one of those cycles years ago and it ended with the last Champions League, but they’ll continue with the fantastic players they already have,” he added.
Mourinho was rumored to be in Madrid’s radar to replace coach Santiago Solari but the club ended up appointing Zinedine Zidane instead.
The Portuguese coach is right when he makes that prediction, as Madrid are expected to sign at least three starting-caliber players this summer. Furthermore, he’s also right when he says that the club tends to make this kind of efforts when they change their coach. They did it when they appointed Pellegrini —Ronaldo, Kaka, Alonso, Benzema—, Mourinho —Ozil, Di Maria, Khedira—, Ancelotti —Isco, Bale— and now it seems that they will do it again in what has been Zidane’s return to the Spanish capital.
