Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has handed in a transfer request to join the Chinese league as a free agent, according to a report from AS and Jugones. Apparently, Ramos has received a very important offer from that country and would like to leave Madrid.

Real Madrid simply told Ramos that the club can’t give up their captain that easily when he’s still healthy and 33 years old, per those same reports.
In the end, this likely means that Ramos wants to sign a contract extension with Real Madrid which would increase his salary as well. Keep in mind that his current contract expires in 2021.
However, Real Madrid appeared to be focused in the upcoming transfer window, when they will need to complete some complicated deals for quality players, and now they must face this negotiation with Ramos and his agent first.
Ramos signed a contract extension in 2015 right after receiving a huge offer to join Manchester United.
