Real Madrid are set to unveil Belgian winger Eden Hazard next Monday, according to a report from AS. Hazard will feature in the UEFA Europa League Final against Arsenal today and both clubs could announce the deal in the upcoming days, per that same report.
President Florentino Perez admitted that Hazard is one of Madrid’s priorities this summer. “We’ve been trying to sign him for so many years and I would like to do it this summer,” said Perez during an interview with Onda Cero this week. The president did not want to say anything else to respect Chelsea ahead of the crucial Europa League Final they are playing this night.
AS adds that Madrid will then focus on Ferland Mendy and Luka Jovic, who appear set to become the team’s next signings after Eden Hazard.
No transfer fee has been announced just yet although Los Blancos are expected to spend €100 million on the Chelsea winger, whose contract with the London-based club expires in 2020. Hazard is 28 years old and will be expected to lead Real Madrid’s attacking line alongside Karim Benzema next season.
