Cesc Fabregas spoke as an analyst for BT Sport following Chelsea’s 4-1 triumph over Arsenal in the Europa League final. Fabregas, who grew up in Barcelona’s La Masia academy, played for Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona, and was a teammate of Hazard’s at Chelsea, had some surprisingly positive words about Real Madrid.

“I don’t think Chelsea, right now, can give what Hazard deserves. There’s a ceiling at Chelsea. I know Eden says he doesn’t care about the Balón d’Or but deep down he does and at Real Madrid he can win it and he can win the Champions League,” he commented.

Cesc was adamant about Real Madrid’s return to greatness and their stature: “He can go so much higher, past the ceiling, at a club like Real Madrid. These clubs: Real Madrid, Barcelona, now Manchester City, and Bayern Munich—they always come back. Madrid has a terrible season, but they will be back. No doubt about it,” he concluded.

It has been a great Chelsea career for Eden Hazard, but all signs point to an imminent move to Real Madrid. Even the former Blaugrana, Cesc Fabregas, is supportive of his former teammate making the move to Los Blancos.
