Real Madrid attacker Brahim Diaz will miss the upcoming UEFA U21 Euro with a groin injury he picked up this week, even though he was initially included in the squad list for that tournament alongside teammates Jesus Vallejo and Dani Ceballos. Eibar’s Cucurella will replace Brahim in the list.
The attacker was surely hoping to complete a good Euro after his solid performances in the last few games of the season with Real Madrid. Brahim was gaining momentum and some reports even suggested that coach Zinedine Zidane is going to keep him around after the summer as he feels Diaz can contribute.
The injury is not catastrophic and Brahim should recover in time for Real Madrid’s pre-season stage. That’s where his future will be decided, considering that he might need to leave the club in order to find relevant minutes elsewhere to continue his development as a player, even more so if Real Madrid end up signing Eden Hazard as expected.
