Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente is on Atletico Madrid’s radar for the upcoming transfer window, according to a report from AS. Coach Diego Pablo Simeone will try to sign the player if Atletico’s Rodrigo ends up joining Manchester City this summer.

Llorente is on his way out of Real Madrid as he is not in Zidane’s plans and never has been. The midfielder has a big contract in Madrid and he might not accept yet another loan deal, so a permanent move seems to be the most likely scenario for the Spanish player.

If Atletico’s interest isn’t all that real, Llorente could possibly need to leave La Liga, given that Barcelona, Atletico de Madrid and Atletico de Madrid are the only teams who could afford his current salary. He has played well this season and remains an intriguing prospect, so clubs from other leagues could be interested in his signing this summer.
