Mental Health Awareness

As the world just witnessed one of the biggest mental collapse in history since Americans elected Donald Trump to be their president...or maybe it was the Russians that did the selectin...i mean electing?? hmmm

Anyways, there will be no treble for barca this season. Now their fans can return back to the Bermuda triangle, the imaginary treble they already awarded their club with after defeating Manchester United's out of form alter ego, MEHchester Divided, over a 2 legged UCL Quarter final tie with. With pogba's evil alternate twin, Paul Poorgba, dragged across the mud for not showing up to stop barca.

Messi was crowned king of the universe & Ronaldo crowned the unworthy peasant who isn't fit to shine the shoe of the king.

Now this brings me to the point of this article. MENTALITY MATTERS!!!

We can dread it, run from it, but mentality still matters.

Mentality is what separates the champions from the talented. Liverpool's makeshift squad mentality was greater than that of Barca's best thing since sliced bread XI mentality. Think about it, they had no salah, no firmino, the last time origi played good football, daniel sturridge was one of the best young strikers on the planet etc. The mentality to win even after coming off a world cup year, is what makes or breaks a clubs season. Not the coaches or the "right" players, or the best "tAcTiCs". All those things are important, don't get me wrong. But if the mentality isn't there to align those stars. Hope & her husband, success, couldn't afford a free one bed room apartment at your club/team.

I stated earlier in the season that our players were mentally turned off. I paralleled it with sarri's comment of his own players poor mentality when they were getting 6 hot lashes from Pep's Manchester city belt. Zidane once admitted that it was hard to motivate the current crop of players under him. I'll cut our players some slack, ronaldo had left the club shortly after zidane did. And in taht same 2018 summer transfer window, our club failed miserably to add adequate re-enforcement post CR7 beyond buying back mariano & vinicius officially being registered with the team. Fast forward 7+ months, a random rare january window transfer of brahim diaz, that's slowly beginning to make sense. we've been on our 2nd underwhelming manager (with solari getting a little ugly result here & there) for over 2 months or so now the rest is forgettable.

Through it all, the one thing missing IMO was the right mentality, which would've given birth to a much better attitude/approach to games. The players didn't have it for julien, ramos had to hold team meetings for them to get through it with solari & they're back to square 1 now with zidane returned. I'm eagerly looking forward to next season with hope that from now on, we don't have another season like this. Or at the very least, we can win a copa del rey should we be close to breaking point. But more than a marquee signing, our club desperately needs a commanding figure with a mentality that can inspire the rest throughout the course of a season. A mentality that rubs off on others. On the pitch and in the locker room. I don't know or rather, i doubt hazard is that type of guy but his signing is still welcome. But such a figure is needed

Unfortunately for me, life calls, so i'll end here. But you get the point. Mentality matters. A new marquee signing will never be enough to save us or help us win trophies if said signing doesn't have that mentality to win even against the ugly mug of impending defeat.
