Real Madrid’s fitness coach Antonio Pintus is leaving the club and will join Antonio Conte’s staff in Inter Milan, according to reports from Spanish outlets MARCA and AS and also Italy’s Il Corriere Dello Sport.
Pintus had been Madrid’s fitness coach ever since Zinedine Zidane became Madrid’s manager three years ago but decided to stay in the club after Zidane surprisingly announced his departure last summer. The French manager reportedly did not like Pintus’ decision to stay and their relationship got worse during the last part of the season right after Zidane’s return to the Spanish capital.
Pintus’ role has always been considered one of the main reasons behind Madrid’s success in the knockout stages of the Champions League, as the players always found a way to prevail physically against the best teams in European football.
Pintus’ successor has not been named yet and Zidane will have to find a suitable replacement before the start of the pre-season stage.
