Belgium coach Roberto Martinez was interviewed by Spanish radio station Radio MARCA and praised Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard, who was unveiled at the Santiago Bernabeu this Thursday.

“He is such a stellar signing. There are plenty of players talented enough to play for Real Madrid, but not so many ready to lead such a project in that kind of club. Eden Hazard is that kind of player, he’s got magic, a perfect and winning attitude for the rest of the group. He’s a crucial player, the best one you can find in the world of football. He will change the future of Spanish football,” said Martinez, who coached Hazard’s Belgium to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final last summer.

“Hazard has taught a lesson of patience and values. His move to Real Madrid was born when he was very young, since he admired Zidane so much. However, it took a long time and that shows just how he is as a person with the ones who respect him and show him commitment. He’s a true gentleman, very different to those players who go from one club to another,” he added.

Martinez also talked about the future relationship of Hazard and Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane.

“They will have such a special relationship, full of respect and admiration towards one another. Zidane will give him what he needs. He’s a star and will change Spanish football,” concluded the coach.
