Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has officially confirmed that the Italian club could be James Rodriguez’s next team.
“I hope we come to an agreement for James. He will be expensive, but if we have to make a sacrifice, we will,” said De Laurentiis to Radio Kiss.
Reports suggested that Real Madrid and Napoli were set to complete a loan deal for James which would include a clause to sign the player permanently in 2020, but perhaps Madrid ultimately decided that deal is just not what they’re looking for. A report from MARCA says that Napoli have offered a total of €50 million over two payments, something which could very well be enough for Madrid to pull the trigger.
James will reunite with former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti in Napoli. Ancelotti knew how to get the best out of the Colombian playmaker, so this reunion could resurrect James’ career in elite football.
