It’s a sad week for us Madridistas. We, admittedly, are spoiled. We’ve all gotten used to winning, especially during this specific week of the year. So, after a season where third-place felt like more of a loss than it really should have, the fact that we’re not in the UCL Final this weekend… sucks.
Let’s take a walk down memory lane then, shall we? The first Champions League I ever watched was against Juventus. You know the one — purple kits and Asensio’s end-of-game stunner. My ex and I watched it together on an Arabic stream. He felt bad that I didn’t know what they were saying, but I remember telling him that I knew enough about the game that I didn’t need to understand them to figure out what was going on.
The next year? I watched it with my dad, in my new 2017/2018 third kit while introducing my oldest niece to Real Madrid and watching my dog try to hide from all of my yelling. I hadn’t decided whether or not I was going to watch the final this weekend, but this is less about my game stories, and more about yours. Tell me what your favourite Real Madrid UCL moments have been, where you were during those moments, and all of that, below.
