Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez will coach Castilla next season, the club announced this Thursday.
Raul spent last season coaching Real’s Cadete B and Juvenil B, so this is a huge step forward in his career and also a big challenge considering that Castilla might have a chance to fight for promotion to Segunda Division. Raul might have some very intriguing prospects like Take Kubo and Rodrygo at his disposal, which means that he will be expected to deliver good results while also giving those two players the minutes they need to develop and reach their potential.
All in all, Raul seems to be a good coach for Castilla, although it’s a bit of a shame that Guti —who appeared to have a lot of potential considering how well his Juvenil used to play— never had this kind of chance.
If Raul ends up having both Kubo and Rodrygo, it will be very interesting to pay close attention to what Castilla can do next season.
