Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez has not signed for Napoli yet even though reports from both the Italian and the Spanish press suggested that Madrid and the Italian club were almost ready to complete the deal two weeks ago.
Now, James’ father has publicly stated his belief and faith, saying that Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti can get the best out of James once again.
“Ancelotti and him had mutual respect since the very beginning, he knows what James has achieved and will know how to increase his value and productivity again,” said James’ father in reference to James’ debut season in the Spanish capital under Ancelotti.
“They were always good friends, a change will be the best for his career and he will get to work with Ospina,” he added.
“Napoli is a relevant club and the Serie A is a competitive league, Napoli is the best answer for James right now,” concluded Wilson Rodriguez.
James’ move to Napoli does indeed make a lot of sense. His two seasons in Germany were very disappointing and even though some fans think he could still be useful in Real Madrid, it’s clear that Zidane doesn’t want him in the team, so they just have to part ways.
