Ferland Mendy is seemingly days away from becoming a Real Madrid player. The left fullback for Lyon and France is set to undergo a medical with a Real Madrid club doctor in Paris according to a report from Marca. The new Lyon sporting director, Juninho, has already given the green light for Mendy’s departure with Luca Digne being lined up as a potential replacement after talks with Everton began late last month over Bertrand Traore. Mendy is not expected to be officially presented until the international break is completed after June 11th. Marca had also reported earlier in the day that lead scout Juni Calafat and Jose Angel Sanchez had flown out to France to finalize the details of the deal.

Spanish radio station, Onda Cero, has gone one step further and reported that the Hazard, Jovic, and Mendy deals will all be completed in the next few days and the official announcements will follow later this week. Real Madrid is expected to pay €50 million for the transfer of Mendy, with a contract until 2025.

Although unlikely, if Madrid can complete all three deals this week, then it would be a terrific start to the transfer window with most of the incoming business being completed before the start of preseason. With Rodrygo and Militao already secured that would be five fresh faces for Madrid’s new look squad. Priorities will likely then switch to proceeds that can be generated for the sale of players to offset the heavy investments.
