Real Madrid could try to include Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas in a potential deal for Benfica wonder kid Joao Felix, who is rumored to be on Madrid’s radar after his brilliant season. Portuguese newspaper Record are reporting that Los Blancos would like to sign Felix but will not be willing to meet Benfica’s demands, so Navas —who needs to find a new club this summer— could make the deal significantly cheaper.
Furthermore, Benfica are in desperate need of signing a goalkeeper and Barcelona’s Jasper Cillesen is not a priority for them anymore.
Joao Felix is still very young and a very intriguing prospect, and while this deal could ultimately make sense given the kind of potential he has, it seems to be calciomercato at its best. Other clubs appear to have more interest in Joao Felix and Madrid’s potential offer might be used as bait so that these other clubs agree to spend at least €100 million.
Ultimately, Los Blancos need to find a new club for Keylor Navas but his transfer value has certainly decreased a lot given that he’s 32 years old.
