Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the signing of Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas to replace Gianluigi Buffon, according to a report from MARCA. The Italian legend announced this week that he will be leaving Paris this summer and now PSG want an experienced goalkeeper like Navas to compete with Alphonse Areola for the starting spot.
Navas is almost certainly on his way out of Madrid as the club will trust Thibaut Courtois going forward. He is 32 years old and can still be competitive for the next couple of seasons, something which makes him a cheap and reasonable transfer target for PSG.
The talks between Navas and the French club have already started and it will be easy for both parts to reach an agreement, given that PSG seem willing to match Navas’ current contract with Real Madrid. No potential transfer fee for Navas has been reported yet, but it’s clear that Navas’ market value is not very strong at the moment.
