Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos talked to the press this week and discussed the rumors reporting that he will leave the club this season after the return of Zinedine Zidane to the Spanish capital.
“Right now I’m only focused on the National Team and I’m a Real Madrid player. I don’t know what will happen tomorrow. I’m an ambitious guy, I’ve got a four-year deal and an expensive release clause. My goal is to succeed in Real Madrid and I think I will achieve it,” said Ceballos.
The Spanish midfielder delivered some interesting quotes about his relationship with Zidane.
“My relationship with Zidane is good. He’s always been clear to be. I knew that I had players like Modric, Kroos or Kovacic ahead of me and that didn’t allow me to have the minutes I wanted. He never told me I was going to play more. I won’t tell you what he said to me now because it’s private, but during his first tenure here he was very clear. Maybe the words I said about Zidane were not the right ones,” he added.
Ceballos said that it was “impossible” to get the chances he wanted and that he considered his first campaign in the club “a lost season.”
Now, it seems obvious that the midfielder will leave the club, although Madrid will probably include a buyback option.
