Ancelotti: “We hope that James Rodriguez signs for Napoli”

Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti wants his club to complete the deal with Real Madrid for James Rodriguez. It’s no secret that James played the best football of his career when Ancelotti was Madrid’s coach and that’s why both Napoli and James should be hoping to cross their paths.

“I don’t know if he’ll sign for us but I surely hope so. I know him very well and he an play everywhere as a midfielder. I’ve used him as a left winger, behind the striker and on the right. He can get used to play everywhere, his position will not be a problem,” said Ancelotti when asked about James.

Reports from Italy suggest that James could wear Napoli’s number 10 and there’s some controversy because only one player has used it after Diego Maradona made it famous during his tenure in the Italian club.

“Regarding the number 10, I will say that the most important thing will be for him to wear the blue shirt. The number is not important,” added Ancelotti.

Real Madrid and Napoli are still negotiating this transfer and Atletico de Madrid are also interested in signing James.
