Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has talked to Il Corriere Dello Sport about the James Rodriguez transfer saga. The Colombian midfielder appeared to be ready to join Napoli several weeks ago yet the deal has not been completed yet and Atletico de Madrid have shown interest as well.
“James is a high-profile player, the most high-profile player after Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He wants to play for Napoli but Real Madrid want too much,” said De Laurentiis.
Napoli would like to pay the €40 million to sign James next year while completing a loan deal this summer. On the other hand, Real Madrid just want to sell the player now in order to increase their budget and keep upgrading the squad.
James is definitely on his way out of Madrid. He’s not in Zinedine Zidane’s plans and that’s why both the player and the club must find a way out and part ways as soon as possible.
