Tottenham Hotspur would be willing to spend €50 million to sign Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale this summer if he accepts a salary cut, according to a report from MARCA.

Bale turns 30 years old this Tuesday and is not in Zinedine Zidane’s plans, so Madrid might be forced to reach an agreement with Bale, pay him at least 50% of his salary for the next three years —a total of around €25 million— and accept Tottenham’s offer, given that Bale’s value in the transfer market his drastically decreased over the last few seasons. Otherwise, Bale will just refuse to give up his current contract.

A return to the Premier League would make a lot of sense for Gareth Bale, even more so if Tottenham is the club chosen. He grew up as a player there and the style of football played in England clearly suits his game.

While Bale would be a useful player for Madrid coming off the bench, Zidane clearly has other plans for his team and the Welshman will need to leave if he wants to play relevant minutes this season.
