Real Madrid announced that Kosovare Asllani will be the first signing for Real Madrid/CD Tacón on Thursday.
The 29-year-old Sweden international plays as both a striker and attacking midfielder. She scored 8 goals for Damallsvenskan club Linköpings FC in just 27 appearances with the club. She also scored 3 goals and 2 assists for Sweden in the Women’s World Cup and was able to capture a bronze medal.
It was announced Monday that Asllani opted out of contract five months early prior to signing with Tacón on Thursday morning.
Proud to announce that I’ll be the first official signing for Real Madrid/Cd Tacon.

Excited to write history, to help build and be part of this teams journey from the very start.

Asllani becomes the first official Galactica in Real Madrid women’s history. By all accounts, it seems she is also a Madridista herself prior to joining the club.
For the time-being, the club remains CD Tacón until July 1, 2020, when they will officially merge with Real Madrid. Tacón and Asllani will play at Real Madrid City this coming season in their first ever promotion to the Primera División of Liga Femenina Iberdrola.
There doesn’t appear to be any other imminent singings on the horizon for Real Madrid’s new women’s team as of yet. Asllani etches her name in Madrid history as the first Galáctica for the new club.
