The Italian coach believes Napoli might still be able to sign the playmaker.

Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti has talked to the press and he addressed the rumors suggesting that James Rodriguez might end up joining Atletico de Madrid this summer.

“I don’t know if he’s already an Atleti player, I’m not paying that much attention to the market because 90% of the rumors are just not true. Is it still possible to sign him? I think the negotiations are still open. Some signings are not easy,” said Ancelotti.

Napoli are not willing to spend much on James and president De Laurentiis would rather complete a loan deal this summer with an option to buy the midfielder a year from now.

Ancelotti also talked about his relationship with the Colombian player.

“I get along really well with him, we’re trying to sign him because he would improve our team quite a lot. I wanted him when i was in Bayern, he did really well there when I left, even though he had some issues during his second season,” concluded Ancelotti.

Real Madrid want to sell James this summer and if Atletico de Madrid are willing to pay €40 million while Napoli offer just a loan deal, the player will return to the Spanish capital even if it means improving Simeone’s team.
