The loan deal is a one year deal with no purchase option in the contract for Arsenal. Ceballos stated his desire to play 40 games this season and feel important after two years with inconsistent playing time. Despite interest from Tottenham and AC Milan, the Andalusian opted for Arsenal after being convinced by head coach, and fellow Spaniard, Unai Emery.
Fresh off of winning the U21 European Championships, Ceballos will look to take the next step in his career and show off his quality in the English Premier League. If he can become a catalyst in brining Arsenal into the top four, then both Madrid and Zidane will be forced to acknowledge his exploits. If Zidane was only going to use the player sparingly, then this was the best move for all involved — he stays on Madrid’s books and can play consistent minutes for a top European club in the Premier League.
Good luck, Dani — we will be tracking your progress!
