“I know Kubo because I played against him last season. He’s a very impressive talent and a great future ahead of him. He’s one of the world’s young players who are gifted enough to earn a spot in the great clubs,” said Iniesta.
Kubo played in Barcelona’s academy and it looked like he could make his return to Barça this summer. However, the player and Barcelona did not reach an agreement and Madrid made a good offer to sign him.
“Only time will tell if Barcelona end up regretting his move to Madrid. I guess the club just did not want him or maybe just things went the wrong way, but Barcelona is more important than a single player,” added Iniesta about the talented playmaker.
Kubo will spend the 2019-2020 season playing with Castilla, where he will have the minutes he needs to keep improving as a player. Furthermore, he will be allowed to train with the first team and could even play some minutes down the road.
