Zidane confirms Kubo will play for Castilla while training with the first team

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has talked about Takefusa Kubo, who has completed two good consecutive performances this preseason.

“Kubo just got here, he will be an important player for us in the future, when we get back we will talk with him. The idea with Kubo is to see him in Castilla while he trains with us. He’s young, like Rodrygo and Vinicius and we have to take things slow with them,” said Zidane after Madrid’s 5-3 victory against Fenerbahce.

The truth is that Castilla might not be good enough for Kubo, who has showed plenty of potential already. A loan deal elsewhere could be even better, given that he seems ready to play some minutes in elite football, but it’s also true that he could help Castilla try to achieve promotion to Segunda Division, which could be huge for Real Madrid’s second team.

Kubo is still very young and has plenty of room for improvement, but it would be great to see him getting consistent minutes in a better league than the Segunda Division B.
