Odegaard has spent the last three years playing in the Dutch Eredivisie and it was time for Real Madrid to give him a chance in La Liga. The Norwegian playmaker received interest from Ajax this summer yet Madrid wanted to get a closer look at his potential before making a final decision about his future.
It will be interesting to see if Odegaard can earn a spot in Real Sociedad’s starting XI given the quality of the Basque team. Real Madrid fans have very high expectations about Odegaard’s future. Will he be able to play in La Liga week in and week out? Is he talented enough to contribute for Madrid in the future? What’s his best position? Odegaard has always been a very intriguing talent and most of those questions might be answered this year.
