Reports from AS have suggested that new Real Madrid signing, Luka Jovic, will reduce his time-off in order to be present for the start of Madrid’s preseason on July 8th. The striker formed part of Serbia’s U21 Squad in the European Championships, meaning he was not off duty until June 24th. Jovic will forgo an additional 16 days break from football. The Serbian looked stoic and focused on the day of his presentation and it’s clear that he does not want to give an inch to his competitors. That attitude will likely serve him well in his effort to impress Zidane and the rest of the coaching staff. He will only of had two weeks off after a long and grueling season, but for Jovic, it may have been two weeks too long.

The Serbian should have ample opportunity to show off his skillset this summer with friendlies scheduled against Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Atletico Madrid, before returning to Germany to take on Tottenham Hostpur in the Audi Cup on July 30th. From July 8th until August 17th, roles will be discovered and Zidane’s potential new tactics will begin to emerge. Luka Jovic is clearly working to be at the forefront of the Frenchman’s thoughts. With 27 goals and 7 assists in all competitions last season, Madrid will be desperate to add Jovic’s end product to their new-look attack.
