AC Milan have completed the signing of 21-year-old, Theo Hernandez, for a fee of €20 million from Real Madrid. The left-fullback failed to rediscover his Alaves form while at Madrid and then again while on loan to Real Sociedad last season. He has now found himself surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu after the emergence of Sergio Reguilon and the purchase of Ferland Mendy.
Theo was spotted having lunch with the new technical director at AC Milan, a certain Paolo Maldini, a couple of weeks ago and the Italian personally convinced the young Frenchman to join their project. Initial reports suggested their may be a two-year loan involved or a buy-back clause, but AC Milan appear to have secured the player outright.
With the official departures of Marcos Llorente (Atletico Madrid), Mateo Kovacic (Chelsea), Raul De Tomas (Benfica), and Alvaro Tejero (Eibar), Madrid have already surpassed the €100 million mark for sales. The selling spree will likely continue with Dani Ceballos linked heavily to Tottenham, James Rodriguez with Napoli, and Lucas Vazquez with Arsenal.
