Eden Hazard has never been shy about expressing his desire to play for Madrid while at Chelsea. Now that his dream has become a reality, the Belgian cannot contain his delight. In an interview with Corriere della Sera, he spoke about both Madrid and Zidane. “As a child I dreamed of one day wearing Real Madrid’s shirt,” Hazard told the Italian outlet.

“When Real knock on your door you can do only one thing: open it. At Chelsea I spent unforgettable years, but here I am in seventh heaven. One of my idols, as a child, was Zinedine Zidane. I had his poster in my room and now I have the opportunity to be coached by him, it’s surreal,” he concluded.

Eden Hazard, the newly appointed #7 of Real Madrid, will be looking to leave his mark this season. The club are looking to turn their fortunes around after a disastrous first season post- Cristiano Ronaldo. At 28-years-old, Hazard is expected to take on a protagonist role in the attack. Under his idol and at his beloved Madrid, the Belgian is expected to shine.
