Real Madrid visit Roma’s Stadio Olimpico in what will be the last preseason game for Zinedine Zidane’s men before the 2019-2020 La Liga season kicks off next Saturday against Celta in Balaidos.

Los Blancos have improved from their early preseason performances but still have to dominate an entire game, so this match against a quality team like Roma will be very important for Madrid to keep gaining some confidence and momentum.

Madrid published their squad list and coach Zidane included Gareth Bale, whose departure from the team seems fairly unlikely at this point. The transfer window in the Premier League closed last Thursday and it looks like Bale will have to stay and accept whatever role Zidane decides to give him. On the other hand, James is still trying to find a new club given that he’s not in Zidane’s plans.

Players like Vinicius or Jovic will try to use this game to prove their worth after a mediocre preseason, especially the Brazilian wonder kid. He will be expected to compete for a spot in the starting lineup this year but will need to do better if he wants that kind of role.
