Ajax sporting director Overmars insists: “I think Van de Beek will stay with us”

It definitely seems that Madrid are going to wait.

Dutch Eredivisie”Ajax v FC Emmen”

Just a day after Ajax coach Ten Hag revealed that midfielder Donny Van de Beek might stay in the Dutch Eredivisie for another year, sporting director Marc Overmars confirms that Real Madrid’s interest might have dropped a little.

“I think Van de Beek will stay with us. It won’t take long before we know it for sure, but I hope that everything will go well. We’re not searching for other players,” revealed the former attacker.

Madrid appeared to have everything set to complete the signing of Van de Beek and some reports even suggested that the midfielder was going to help his team advance to the next round of the Champions League Qualifiers before signing his new deal with Los Blancos. However, it now looks like Real Madrid will wait for another year before making a final decision on Van de Beek’s future, which means that the midfielder’s price could be increased if he completes a solid year in the Eredivisie.
