Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane will be without right-back Dani Carvajal when his team visit Celta Vigo in the first game of the 2019-2020 La Liga season this next Saturday. Carvajal is suspended after seeing his fifth yellow card during Madrid’s last game of the 2018-2019 campaign.
The Spanish Football Federation planned to revoke this suspension which affects four other players —Gayà, Parejo, Maksimovic, Elustondo and Diego Llorente— but ran out of time was the appeal had to be signed by the Consejo Superior de Deportes.
Therefore, Alvaro Odriozola will be the one starting in Real Madrid’s right wing against Celta. Odriozola is a solid offensive player but struggles quite a lot defensively, so Madrid will need to pay close attention to their right wing as Celta are expected to be a very competitive team this season.
Carvajal will be cleared to play in Real Madrid’s second game of the season against Valladolid.
