Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon, who will spend the 2019-2020 season in Sevilla on a loan deal, managed to complete an excellent debut for the Andalusian club by scoring the opening goal against Espanyol while delivering the assist for Sevilla’s second. He was clearly the Man of the Match.

Reguilon completed 77% of his passes and shot five times, proving that his offensive impact is a very interesting asset.
Julen Lopetegui gave Reguilon the chance to start on Sevilla’s left side of the defensive line and the young player delivered a brilliant performance and proved that he could very well become an undisputed starter for Lopetegui this season.
Madrid have a very interesting player in Reguilon and will need to make some decisions next summer, given that he will end his loan deal with Sevilla and return to the Spanish capital to compete for a spot against Marcelo, who will be 32 years old, and Mendy. Considering that Los Blancos spent €50 million to sign the French defender this summer, it would appear that Mendy is the future starter. Furthermore, Marcelo seems ready to bounce back after a disappointing season, so it might be tough for Reguilon to stay in Real Madrid past next summer.
