But he says an agreement is not as close as it’s being reported.

Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Donny Van de Beek seems to be on Real Madrid’s radar once again and reports from MARCA and other Spanish newspaper indicate that Los Blancos have reached an agreement with the player and would only need to finalize the deal with Ajax.

The midfielder has talked to FOX Sports about this situation but hasn’t said that a deal is closed.

“Yes, Real Madrid are interested in me, but you’re going too fast,” said the midfielder when asked about the rumors suggesting that he will sign for the club.

MARCA’s report says that Madrid will pay around €60-€70 million to complete the transfer and that his potential signing doesn’t mean that Los Blancos will give up on Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

It seems that Madrid’s coaching staff and board realize that the current roster is not good enough to compete for all three titles and want to add some depth by signing quality midfielders, although it’s hard to project Van de Beek as a starter next season.
