Navas reportedly asks to leave Real Madrid—MARCA
According to a recent report from MARCA, Keylor Navas has allegedly asked the club to arrange a transfer for him. MARCA also report that Real are already looking for an “experienced” replacement if he truly departs.
If this report holds true, this could not come at a worse time for the club with Andriy Lunin being loaned out just last week to Valladolid. They would surely have to find a backup for Courtois before the transfer window closes on September 2.
Earlier reports, prior to the summer window, alleged that Zidane informed Navas that Thibaut Courtois would be the starter this season. Obviously, Navas can still be a great starter elsewhere, he’s pretty much too good to be a bench player.
Many rumors have Navas linked with PSG. If he does leave Madrid, he could very well end up taking Alphonse Areola’s starting spot in Paris. Much like many transfer rumors, we’ll have to see how this all plays out the next couple of weeks.
Bruno Fernandes reportedly offered to Real Madrid—AS
AS report that Sporting CP have allegedly offered midfielder Bruno Fernandes to Real Madrid for a valued price of around €70 million. The report also alleges that Sporting have hired super-agent Jorge Mendes to mediate negotiations and that the price tag is non-negotiable.
With Tottenham and Manchester United reportedly turning down a €60 million move for Bruno prior to the closing of the Premier League window, it seems unlikely that he’s not worth this much more. He’s clearly a talent and will likely be a star at a bigger club soon. He scored around 30 goals last season for Sporting and he’s only 24.
So it’s not that they shouldn’t move for Bruno, I’m just not entirely convinced Real are actively in pursuit of him. I’m not even entirely convinced they’ll make any more signings before the summer window closes.
With the Van de Beek move falling out seemingly until next summer and no traction at all for Paul Pogba, it’s likely this is the midfield Real will go with at least until January.
PSG reportedly reject a mega-offer for Neymar—L’Equipe
According to French outlet L’Equipe, PSG have reportedly rejected an offer of Bale, James, Navas and €100 million from Real Madrid for Neymar.
I have to believe this is complete nonsense. I don’t believe Real Madrid actually made this offer nor do I believe PSG would reject this offer if it actually was made.
Zidane has already said that Bale and James are staying, unless that was all some public ruse while a Neymar move has been planned with these players involved behind closed doors. And if other reports are to be believed, we know PSG have interest in Navas anyways.
Let’s suppose this rumor is true, this is theoretically the best Real can offer PSG. 3 players, all who would most likely start for the Parisians, plus €100 million is a pretty great deal. This, plus the alleged offers from Barcelona that PSG have reportedly turned down, make it seem like PSG really don’t want to sell Neymar if these reports are actually true.
Personally speaking, as the end of the window nears, it seems more likely that Neymar will stay in Paris. I, for one, am more looking forward to this entire Neymar saga just ending at this point. It doesn’t seem like he will leave and it certainly doesn’t seem like Real are any closer to actually getting him.
