Real Madrid have officially announced that attacker Takefusa Kubo will play for RCD Mallorca on a loan deal which will expire in June 2020.

Real Madrid C. F. and R. C. D. Mallorca have reached an agreement over the loan of Takefusa Kubo for the current campaign in a deal running until 30 June 2020.

“I thought about many different options but I’m happy to play for Mallorca this season,” said Kubo.

Kubo needed minutes in elite football this season and will get them in Mallorca, although it’s true that he will need to work very hard to earn a role in the starting lineup. The Japanese wonder kid is still 18 years old, lacks experience and has plenty of room from improvement, but Castilla was probably not good enough for him.

He displayed some very encouraging skills during the few minutes Zidane gave him this past preseason stage and if he can get relevant minutes in La Liga, Real Madrid made the right call because he will learn much faster. It will be very interesting to watch Mallorca’s games this season.
