Pedrag Mijatovic, a striker who has put his name in Real Madrid folklore after scoring in the Septima final, has revealed to Croatian outlet, Tanjug en Split, what Luka Jovic must do to succeed at Real Madrid. Mijatovic of Montenegro, was also of Eastern European decent like Modric and Jovic and has often commented on both players careers. Having been a striker for Real Madrid, he felt compelled to share his advice for the Serbian:
“Like any young player who ends up at a massive club, you must be patient. He has to wait for his opportunity, train hard, and reflect on his situation,” the former sporting director said. “He doesn’t have it easy. The competition is tough, but he’s young and has the ambition and attitude to demonstrate his quality.”
Unfortunately, due to a Nacho red card and an ankle injury vs Atletico Madrid, Luka Jovic’s minutes in preseason were limited. Like Mijatovic alluded to, he will have to be patient and take advantage of the opportunities he gets to replace Karim Benzema who is entering the final stages of his career.
