According to Spanish publication, Marca, Fede Valverde is expected to receive his Spanish passport on August 9th, thus freeing up one of the non-EU spots in the squad. New arrival Eder Militao and fellow Brazilian, Vinicius Junior, currently occupy the other non-EU slots in the team. Most believe that 18-year-old, Rodrygo Goes, will occupy the final spot.

It is still unclear what Zidane’s plans are for the youngster. He has done well in the preseason when given the opportunity to play. Most have speculated that he will spend some time adapting to the club and the city by playing for Castilla, much like Vinicius experienced during his first six months at the club. Though given his good performances, he could have a bigger role than expected.

The one player who is most likely to be sacrificed from the first team will be Japanese sensation Takefusa Kubo. Zidane has already hinted that the player will spend the first part of the season playing games with Castilla. Both the manager and the club want to ease his transition given all the media attention and pressure surrounding him.
