Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar Jr. wants to leave the French club this summer and FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will battle to sign the Brazilian attacker, according to reports from MARCA, As and Sport.
Real Madrid thought about making an effort for Manchester United’s Paul Pogba but in the end it will be very difficult for Los Blancos to complete the signing of the French midfielder now that the transfer window in the Premier League has closed without United securing the signing of a quality replacement. Apparently, now Madrid will focus on signing Neymar.
Signing Neymar doesn’t make much sense for Los Blancos if coach Zinedine Zidane considered Pogba a priority. Madrid already signed Eden Hazard this summer and Neymar plays a similar position and offers the same kind of skills.
However, the Brazilian attacker has always been on Florentino Perez’s wish list and the president could very well pull the trigger if PSG decide to part ways with Neymar, which seems fairly likely.
