Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos talked to the press and presented his documentary “El Corazon de Sergio Ramos”, which will be released on Amazon Prime Video on September 13th. The defender shared his thoughts and expectations about the current season.
“You can learn from every mistake. As long as it’s possible to conquer more trophies, I’ll keep dreaming, it’s my passion. A fifth Champions League would be crazy, that’s why I make sacrifices. Just like winning another Eurocup or World Cup, it would be unique,” said Ramos.
Real Madrid completed a very discouraging season last year and the documentary features Ramos’ reactions during the team’s loss to Ajax Amsterdam in the return leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
“When you sign deals it’s your duty, it was one of the worst moments, a painful day. Nobody expected to be knocked out. They stopped filming because it was such a bad moment, not everything is perfect,” explains Ramos.
Real Madrid must turn things around this season if they want to compete for all three titles and Ramos is optimistic.
“After such a disastrous season, you have to press the reset button and win again. We are all looking forward to winning again. It will be a good season for the team, we will improve our form and the good results will end up coming,” added the captain.
Ramos also shared his feelings about the process of featuring in a documentary.
“Playing in Real Madrid taught me everything. I feel more pressure with a camera inside the house than I do during a game. It’s not pressure though, it’s responsibility. I didn’t do it so that people change their minds about me, I did so that they can see what our life is like. I respect everyone’s opinion, but I can’t change them,” concluded Ramos.
