The (not so) immediate reaction for today’s game is something to the effect of: Man, this team is hard to watch. I don’t mean that from a game play perspective as much as I do from a literal one — it’s hard to find a stream to watch the team. I checked the usual suspects this morning, but couldn’t find anything. Neither the English nor the Spanish Real Madrid TV channels had the game on. There were no live streams on Twitter, and the Facebook page from last week didn’t have this one covered either.
From what I can find in the La Liga app, CD Tacon boasted one goal and five yellow cards to EDF Logroño’s five goals and one yellow card. Kosovare Asllani struck first with a goal in the 17th minute, but Logroño’s Barbra Banda quickly followed with a hat trick, split between the halves (19’, 25’, 37’). The final two came from Chini, and Silvia Ruiz. Ainoa, Kaci, Osinachi Ohale, Daiane, and Yohana each racked up a yellow card while Isadora Freitas picked one up for the home team.
The match did, however, feature another new signing in German defender, Babett Peter. She signed a two-year contract just five days ago. At 31, she spent her entire career playing in the German women’s league and has scored the final penalty kick to secure the first UEFA Women’s Champions League title for Turbine Potsdam. Babett, like others on the team, has seen minutes in the Women’s World Cup as well in the Olympics. Hopefully, the next game will be streamed somewhere so that we can all see how she adds to the team.
