Real Madrid left back Marcelo was able to complete Friday’s training session with his teammates and could be available when Los Blancos visit Atletico de Madrid for a thrilling Madrid Derby this Saturday —21:00 CEST—.
Coach Zinedine Zidane would clearly give Marcelo some more time to improve his conditioning after an injury, but Real Madrid were forced to play with Nacho in the left side of the defensive line and that could ultimately mean that Marcelo might need to play at the Wanda Metropolitano, even though it’s not the ideal scenario after an injury.
This is such an important game for Real Madrid after two quality wins against Sevilla and Osasuna. Furthermore, Nacho doesn’t seem to be a very reliable option for that spot, so Marcelo’s presence has become very important after Mendy’s injury. All in all, it’s likely that Zidane rushes him back and gives him the chance to feature in the starting XI come Derby time.
Modric and Isco will surely be available, although it’s likely that Zidane keeps them on the bench as they might not be ready for 90 minutes yet.
