Real Madrid and Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva have terminated their contract, which was set to expire in the summer of 2020 and Silva is now a free agent. A report from Marca indicates that Silva is hoping to reach an agreement with a club in European football.
Silva signed for Real Madrid in the winter transfer window of the 2014-2015 season and only appeared in nine games for Los Blancos although the club spent €15 million to sign him away from Cruzeiro. The midfielder also spent one season on a loan deal with Olympique Marseille but never managed to reach his potential.
Lucas Silva is still 27 years old, so he has plenty of time to turn things around and become a useful player in European football. However, it’s fairly clear that he will not be the kind of player he was in the Brazilian Serie A, where he was one of the best midfielders.
