This is not satire — much to you’re initial assumption.
As has been the trend over the past few months, everyone inside the Real Madrid camp has taken the Gareth Bale / golf criticism lightly. While the Spanish press have continued to batter Bale over the course of his Real Madrid career — making up false stories about his lack of Spanish-speaking abilities, and going over the top about the Welshman’s love for golf — Bale and the team have learned to laugh it all off.
Bale received a golf club from his teammates for Christmas, and in a way to honour his absence from the team at the SuperCopa in Jeddah, the squad brought with them a golf club.
Don’t ask what they’ll do with it — we have no idea. One would hope they would bring it out, along with the Welsh flag, during celebrations should they lift the trophy on Sunday.
Jose has been putting all kinds of great data on Twitter over the past week. Here's just one of them. Nice to see Messi finally having some company in one of the categories he dominates. https://t.co/UQtbY6gqWV
