Real Madrid held their first training session since winning the SuperCopa. Today at Real Madrid City, the team began to prepare for this weekend’s match against Sevilla. Zidane’s starting XI against Atletico completed a special recovery session; while Sergio Ramos and Luka Jovic trained indoors. Gareth Bale, who missed the trip to Saudia Arabia due to an infection to the upper respiratory tract, returned to training with the whole group.
Three players — Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard, and Karim Benzema — are still recovering from their injuries. Benzema is slightly further along than the other two, as he trained alone on the grass, both with and without the ball,
Today’s training was pretty routine overall. Zidane had the team start the session with fitness drills, before working on possession and pressing exercises. The training ended with scrimmages on a reduced-size pitch as well a finishing drills to round things off.
