Cantera Taconera: Costa Daurada Cup and Other Weekly Updates

Everyone wins except Cadete and Ariana Arias joins Spain U-17 for a friendly match

Tacón’s youth ranks will be joining the Costa Daurada Cup in April. They joined in the tournament for the first time last year and will repeat in 2020 in all available categories: U-12 (Fútbol 7), U-14, U-16 and senior. The tournament takes place from April 8th to 12th in Cambrils, Cataluña. There will be an international break in Liga Iberdrola that weekend, which is fitting given the fact that the senior team coach is Dani Pérez, analyst to the first team, and players of the likes of Ariana Arias and María Portolés are sometimes called up in the A team squads.

Toña Is, coach to the Spanish U-17 national team, called up Ariana Arias for a friendly match against Germany this past week. Arias didn’t start the game but came off the bench in the second half. The Spaniards won comfortably 3-1.

CD Torrejón 0 - 8 Senior B

The team maintains their lead in the League, winning against Torrejón.

AD Alcorcón 1 - 10 Juvenil A

The team brings home another win. Ariana Arias racked up six goals, followed by María Portolés who scored two, and, Carlota García and Nuria Díaz who netted one each. They remain second in the league, six points behind Atlético de Madrid.

Juvenil B 3 – 0 AD Sporting de Hortaleza

Cadete 2 - 3 CD Ciudad de Fútbol

CDE Olímpico de Madrid 2 - 5 Infantil A

The team conceded two goals, one free kick and another penalty kick. In turn, they scored five to ensure victory, two of which were Lidia Prieto’s.

Infantil B didn’t play this week, as their match was postponed to January 29th.

Alevín A 4 – 1 Olivo de Coslada

Despite the result, it was a close match that the team managed to turn around in the second half.

CF Cubas Féminas 1 - 3 Alevín B
